UGANDA - Rwenzori Mount

The Bukonzo Joint Cooperative Union counts about 5.500 farmers that produce coffee at the foot of the legendary "Mountains of the Moon" (already known to the Romans and described by Ptolemy), that is the current Rwenzori mountain range in western Uganda, at an altitude between 1,400 and 2,000 meters above sea level.

Their washed coffee, arabica varieties based on botanical SL14 and SL28, is watered by snowmelt and therefore called Owemba ("Special"). It is characterised by an admirable balance between a thick body and moderate acidity and aromatic qualities often characterised by soft hints of dried fruit.

They have both Bio certification and FairTrade one.
